We at Citizens Advice East Dorset are aware of what issues our clients are facing and which policies or practices aren't working.
Along with other Citizens Advice offices, at national, county and local level, we use our anonymous evidence to try and influence policy makers and service providers to make improvements. We can inform them of any adverse impact the laws, policies or services are having on people and we might suggest how they could be changed.
Sometimes we might have a campaign to raise public awareness and knowledge about how a certain problem might be averted.
In this way we are working to prevent the problems that affect people's lives unfairly.
